Home of the most beautiful cats in the world - Maine Coons

The Story Of Magnacats

The Magnacats cattery was formed in 2007 when Champion Maine Coon breeder Cliff Hamons decided to relinquish his cattery to focus instead on his farm.  He donated RW Ranchcats Miss Milly to Carol Campbell to form the nucleus of a new cattery, Magnacats.

In fact the full story began just a little earlier in 2005 when Carol was seeking a Maine Coon cat as a gift for her parents.  When visiting the Ranchcats cattery, she was taken with the antics of a young red oriental shorthair cat, former show kitten.  This was Russell, destined to become a pet, but he had the perfect personality and classic lean looks to potentially be a show cat.  Carol took Russell to a TICA show and he won four Best Alter awards.  Within four shows he had become a Supreme Grand Champion Alter (SGCA) and went on to be the best Oriental Shorthair Alter in TICA worldwide for 2006.  As Russell progressed up the cat show ladder, so Carol's love for cats and cat shows grew.

Also during 2006 she took RW SGCA Ranchcats Sun King (Louie) to Supreme Grand Champion Alter.  Following that achievement, Louie retired at the end of the show year.  Louie had won her heart and Carol then decided if she ever had a cattery it would be to promote the breed and merits of Maine Coon show cats.
